Objectives of the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme
The primary objective of the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme is to go beyond the bare essentials and elevate the station facilities significantly.
It envisions the construction of Roof Plazas and City Centers at the stations, introducing new amenities while upgrading and replacing existing ones.
Scope of Work under ABSS
The Amrit Bharat Station Scheme encompasses various areas of improvement, such as entry and exit points, circulating areas, waiting halls, toilets, lifts/escalators, cleanliness, and free Wi-Fi.
The scheme also promotes local products through initiatives like ‘One Station One Product. Moreover, passenger experience is enhanced through improved kiosks and better access to information.
The plan includes amenities like executive lounges, designated spaces for business meetings, and appealing landscaping.
