The Indian Railways is continuously enhancing its services to provide better facilities to the people.
Among these, booking railway tickets has become more convenient.
Now, in a significant move, the Railways have introduced a new feature allowing passengers to buy unreserved train tickets using their smartphones.
The UTS (Unreserved Ticketing System) mobile app has been developed for this purpose, and it can be easily downloaded from either the Google Play Store or iOS.
This app proves to be a time-saver for those who wish to avoid long lines at railway platforms while booking unreserved train tickets.
Here’s how you can book your tickets using the UTS App
Download the UTS app, create an account, and fill in your details. Don’t forget to recharge your wallet using UPI, Net Banking, Credit Card, or Debit Card.
Choose between paperless or paper options for ticket booking.
Enter the “Depart from” and “Going to” stations.
Proceed to “Get fare” and pay the required amount from your wallet (other payment options like UPI, Net Banking, Credit Card, or Debit Card are also available).
Your tickets can be viewed in the app by selecting the “show ticket” option.
If you opt for a paper ticket, you can print it using the booking ID received at the source or a notification from the UTS app at the regular booking counter.
It’s important to note that paperless ticket cancellation is not allowed. However, passengers can simply show their digital tickets to the TTE or TC using the “show ticket” feature in the app.
This new initiative by the Indian Railways aims to make the travel experience more convenient and efficient for passengers.
Now, booking unreserved, platform, and season tickets can be done easily through the UTS mobile app, making train travel hassle-free.
