You can get a discount of up to 75 percent on tickets in 2A/CC. There is a 50 percent discount on tickets in 1st AC and 2nd AC.
Thalassemia
If someone has Thalassemia and needs to travel to another city by train for treatment, the Railways provides a 75 percent discount on tickets in 1A/2A/3A/SL/CC classes.
Additionally, there is a 50 percent discount available in 1A/2A. It’s important to note that the railways does not provide a 100 percent exemption for this illness.
Please be aware that this discount is applicable to both the patient’s and their companion’s tickets.
Heart Surgery
In 1A/2A/3A/SL/CC class, the sick person and their friend get a 75 percent discount. There is a 50 percent discount in first-class and second-class.
Operation/Kidney Patient (Dialysis)
In 1A/2A/3A/SL/CC class, the sick person and their friend get a 75% discount. In the good classes, there’s a 50% discount.
TB
In the fancier class, like 1st AC and 2nd AC, as well as Sleeper class, the person who is unwell and the person accompanying them receive a discount of 75 percent.
Anemia
In 2A/3A/SL/CC class, the patient and the person accompanying them receive a 50 percent discount.
Hemophilia
In the best train seats like 1A, 2A, 3A, SL, and CC, the sick person and their friend get a discount of 75 percent.
Leprosy patients who do not have infection
In 1A/2A/SL class, the person who is sick and the person with them get a 75 percent discount.

Mentally Weak

Blind

50 percent off on 1st class, 2nd class, sleeper, monthly, and quarterly tickets.

What documents will be needed
If you need a discount on the ticket, sick passengers should give a copy of the medical certificate, and disabled passengers must provide a copy of the disability certificate along with the ticket.
Where to get tickets from
If you want to get this discount, you must go to the ticket counter and purchase it. This option is not accessible online.
However, a person with a disability can book train tickets online with their disability certificate.
But, you can use this offer only for trips longer than 300 km. If you plan to get off before reaching your destination, remember to inform the train conductor about it after you have received permission.
