Indian Passport Now grants Visa-Free access to 62 Countries

The power of the Indian passport has gone up again. Now, the Indian passport is in the 80th position, moving up three places.

This means that the Indian passport is now the 80th most powerful passport globally.

You can visit 62 countries without a visa

In the new Henley Passport Index, the Indian passport is ranked 80th, tied with Uzbekistan. Indians can now travel to 62 countries without needing a visa.

Some of these countries include Bhutan, British Virgin Islands, Barbados, Thailand, Jordan, Malaysia, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Mauritius, and Indonesia.

You can get a visa upon arrival in these countries

There are also many countries where Indian passport holders can get a visa upon arrival.

These countries include Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, Timur-Leste, Iran, Bolivia, Burundi,

Cape Verde Islands, Comoro Islands, Djibouti, Gabon, Madagascar, Seychelles, Mauritius, Mozambique, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Samoa, Tanzania, and Zimbabwe.

India is ahead of Bhutan, Chad, Egypt, and others

In 2023, India’s passport was ranked 83rd, and now in 2024, it is 80th. After India, Bhutan, Chad,

Egypt, Jordan, Vietnam, Myanmar, Angola, Mongolia, Mozambique, Tajikistan, Madagascar, Burkina Faso,

Côte d’Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea, Senegal, Algeria, Cambodia, and Mali follow on the Henley Passport Index.

Passports of powerful countries

The most powerful passports are from France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Singapore, and Spain, allowing people from these countries to visit 194 countries without a visa.

Finland, Sweden, and South Korea follow closely with access to 193 countries. Passports from Austria, Denmark, Ireland,

and the Netherlands share the third spot with access to 192 countries without a visa.

Pakistani passport is not very strong

The weakest passports include Dominica, Haiti, Micronesia, Qatar, St. Vincent, Trinidad and Tobago, and Vanuatu.

The passport of neighboring country Pakistan is the fourth weakest globally.

Passports from Iraq, Syria, and Afghanistan are also ranked low on the Henley Passport Index.
