On Friday, India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) joined forces with Airtel to introduce “WhatsApp Banking Services.”
Through this service, IPPB customers can now access their banking services on their mobile phones, with the aim of promoting digital and financial inclusion among citizens in their own languages.
The objective of this banking solution is to offer customers multi-language support, particularly those in rural areas, and enable them to access banking services in their preferred language.
With this solution, IPPB customers can easily connect with their banks through the WhatsApp application.
Gussharan Rai Bansal, CGM & CSMO of India Post Payment Bank, expressed his delight in collaborating with Bharti Airtel to promote digital and financial inclusion in India.
He believes that technology-driven financial services have significant potential and can help ensure that the best financial products reach even the remotest corners of the country.
Abhishek Biswal, Business Head of Airtel IQ, emphasized the benefits of the WhatsApp Banking channel, stating that Airtel IQ is a secure and user-friendly cloud communication suite that already offers SMS and voice communication services to IPPB customers.
He further noted that WhatsApp messaging will provide customers with a two-way communication channel, thereby enhancing their banking experience with IPPB.
With the new update to its banking service, IPPB customers can now easily connect with their banks on WhatsApp and access a range of banking services, such as doorstep service and locating a nearby post office.
IPPB has partnered with Airtel to deliver over 250 million messages per month to a large number of customers living in rural areas.
The latest update aligns with the government’s Digital India initiative, which seeks to enhance access to digital services across the country, especially in rural areas.
By integrating WhatsApp chat, customers will now have easy access to communicate with their bank at their fingertips.
IPPB and Airtel IQ are working together to take the WhatsApp solution to the next level by incorporating a live interactive customer service agent.
This feature will enable users to seek help 24/7, making the banking experience more convenient and user-friendly.
