IMD Warns of Heavy Rain in Karnataka, Rajasthan, Delhi NCR

Heavy rains are affecting various parts of the country, causing flood-like conditions in some states and disrupting normal life.

The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for heavy rains in several regions, including Karnataka,

Chhattisgarh, Tamil Nadu, Rayalaseema, Kerala, Gangetic West Bengal, and eastern Rajasthan on August 16.

Delhi Weather Update

In Delhi, light to moderate rain is expected to continue until August 17. An alert for heavy rain has been issued for August 18 and 19.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts that Delhi’s maximum temperature will range from 32 to 34 degrees Celsius throughout the week,

with a minimum temperature between 25 to 27 degrees Celsius.

Rainfall Forecast for Various Regions

The IMD forecasts widespread light to moderate rain over Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand.

Scattered to fairly widespread rainfall is expected in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh-Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan during the week. Specific periods of rainfall include:

August 16-17: Scattered heavy rainfall in Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad and western Rajasthan.

August 16-21: Rain in Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh, and Himachal Pradesh.

August 15: Rain in Punjab.

August 16: Rain in Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi and East Rajasthan.

Regional Rainfall Predictions

Widespread light to moderate rain is expected in Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Chhattisgarh over the next 7 days. Other regional predictions include:

August 16-19 & 19-21: Heavy rain in West Madhya Pradesh.

August 18-21: Heavy rain in East Madhya Pradesh.

August 18-20: Heavy rain in Vidarbha and Konkan & Goa.

August 17-21: Heavy rain in Chhattisgarh, with very heavy rain likely on August 16.
