IMD Alerts Heavy Rain in North-Western Region in THESE States

The weather people in India, called the India Meteorological Department (IMD), are saying that there will be a lot of fog in the north-west part of the country.

They’re saying that this thick fog will stick around for the next 3-4 days. Specifically, places like Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi will have really thick fog until December 29.

After that, there might still be fog in places like Rajasthan, north-west Madhya Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura until the morning of December 31.

Besides the heavy fog and very cold weather, it’s expected to start raining in the north-western region of India from December 30.

This is because of something called a Western Disturbance, which is like a weather system.

From December 31, 2023, to January 2, 2024, there might be light scattered rain in places like Jammu

and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Vidarbha.

The IMD also says there might be heavy rain in Tamil Nadu on December 30 and 31.

The weather people are also saying that because of something called a fresh easterly wave, there might be light to moderate rain in South Tamil Nadu and Kerala from December 30 to January 2, 2024.

Another weather report from Skymet Weather says that there might still be really thick fog at night and in the morning in many parts of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh for the next two days.

On Friday, there might be fog in parts of Odisha, North Rajasthan, North-West Madhya Pradesh, and North-East India.

Lastly, they’re saying there could be a bit of rain in Kerala, and the rain might get heavier in Tamil Nadu from December 30, with light to moderate rain and heavy rain in some places.
