Hyundai unveiles Design of it’s upcoming SUV Exter: Check Price & Features

Hyundai Motor India is preparing for the upcoming launch of its smallest SUV, the Exter, anticipated to be released in the coming months, potentially in August 2023.

Positioned above the Grand i10 Nios hatchback and below the Venue subcompact SUV in Hyundai’s product portfolio, the Exter will compete directly with rivals such as the Tata Punch and the recently launched Maruti Fronx.

Ahead of its market debut, Hyundai has unveiled the first sketch showcasing the front design details of the Exter.

Explore the Latest Information on the Upcoming Hyundai Exter Micro SUV, Including Key Details.

Hyundai Exter Exterior

The Hyundai Exter micro SUV showcases Hyundai’s fresh ‘Parametric Dynamism’ design language, drawing inspiration from outdoor adventures, travel, and urban lifestyle.

The design elements of the Exter seem to share similarities with the Venue subcompact SUV.

The front fascia boasts square-shaped headlamp clusters with projector lamps and H-shaped LED DRLs, while the grille exhibits parametric patterns.

A bumper that spans the width of the car adds to its distinctive look, with small creases visible between the bumper and bonnet, and the iconic Hyundai badge gracing the hood.

The Exter model showcases several design highlights, such as a faux skid plate on the front chin and roof rails reminiscent of the Venue.

Its exterior features include muscular fenders, ORVMs with integrated blinkers, circular fog lamps, and steel wheels (in lower variants), while higher trims may offer alloy wheels.

Notably, the Exter will be the smallest SUV in Hyundai’s Indian lineup, even smaller than the Casper, which measures 3595mm in length, 1595mm in width, and 1575mm-1605mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2400mm.

Hyundai Exter Interior, Features

Currently, there is limited information available regarding the interior layout and features of the Exter micro SUV.

However, it is speculated that the Exter may share some design elements with the Grand i10 Nios and Venue.

Potential interior features could include a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, connected car technology, automatic climate control, a semi-digital instrument cluster, and a sunroof. However, official details are yet to be confirmed by Hyundai.

Hyundai Exter Engine, Gearbox

The Exter micro SUV from Hyundai is expected to be powered by the Grand i10 Nios’ 1.2L petrol engine, which delivers 83bhp and 113.8Nm of torque.

There are also rumors suggesting that the Exter may offer a CNG fuel option.

Buyers can anticipate both manual and automatic gearbox options for this new SUV. However, official specifications and details are yet to be confirmed by Hyundai.

Hyundai Exter Price Expectations

The Hyundai Exter micro SUV is projected to be competitively priced against the Tata Punch, which is priced between Rs 6 lakh to Rs 9.47 lakh (ex-showroom).

It is anticipated that the Exter will fall within a similar price range of Rs 6 lakh to Rs 10 lakh.

However, official pricing details from Hyundai are yet to be disclosed.
