Hyundai India launches ‘Samarth’ initiative for differently-abled individuals

Hyundai Motor Limited (HMIL), the first smart mobility solution provider in India, recently introduced the ‘Samarth’ initiative.

This program is designed to increase awareness and support for people with disabilities in India.

It aligns with Hyundai’s worldwide vision of ‘Progress for Humanity,’ focusing on fostering an inclusive and progressive global community through the impact of mobility.

Hyundai wants to make people in India more aware and considerate about those with disabilities through this effort.

Recognizing that there are over 26.8 million people with disabilities in India, Hyundai felt it was important to raise awareness.

By introducing ‘Samarth’, Hyundai Motor India becomes the first car company in India to start a big project promoting inclusive mobility.

Hyundai will work together with groups helping others and TV and radio stations to make a big effort for the people.

Also, Hyundai will make sure its car shops are more open to everyone.

With using new ideas, working together, making new products, and sharing real stories, ‘Samarth’ wants to make the world fair for everyone.

What did the company say?

Speaking at the launch of the ‘Samarth’ initiative, Eun Soo Kim, MD & CEO, HMIL, said, “We do not just make cars, but also believe in empowering India, and to empower India, we undertake social initiatives under the pillars of World, Mobility, and Hope.

These are in line with Hyundai’s global approach of promoting ‘Continue’ and ‘Progress for Humanity.’

Samarth is an expression of this belief. We are proud of the ‘Samarth’ initiative.

Happy to announce the launch, which is a step towards creating a more disability-conscious society in India.

Our aim is to build a more justifiable and sensitive society for the disabled and we want them to live up to their true potential. Look at their capabilities.”

What did Shahrukh Khan say?

Talking about the new initiative, Hyundai’s brand ambassador Shah Rukh Khan stated, “Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF) has teamed up with GoSports Foundation, a 15-year-old national award-winning foundation, to support Paralympics in India.

A special program is being initiated to assist athletes. The program seeks to unite team events and individual sports to inspire the nation, advocate for equality in the disabled community, nurture an innovative culture, enhance skills through vocational education, and make a positive impact on para-sports.

Both organizations will back emerging and disabled athletes.”

Disabled people will get a boost in sports

Also, HMIF will develop a program using blind cricket as a platform to support the physical and social development of visually impaired individuals in India.

Through this collaboration, HMIF will assist visually impaired cricketers by arranging different training camps at the beginner and national levels.

The initiative will also host an international bilateral series for the National Blind Cricket Team, offering them a larger stage to display their talents.

To make digital access easier for everyone, Hyundai is working to make its website more user-friendly for individuals with disabilities.

Disabled people will get excellent facilities

Moreover, this effort will improve the experience for customers at our dealerships, demonstrating Hyundai’s commitment to being adaptable, fair, socially responsible, fostering positive relationships with customers, and contributing to a society that includes everyone.

Our goal is to make all our dealerships and service centers wheelchair accessible for people with different abilities to reach their cars by February 2024.

This ensures their safety, comfort, and convenience while empowering and delivering personalized service to meet the needs of individual passengers.
