Hyundai Grand i10 Nios launched in India with Dual Cylinder CNG: Know Price & Features

When Tata Motors recently launched its first CNG car with dual-cylinder technology, it made a big impact in the CNG car market by addressing the major issue of limited boot space.

Following Tata’s lead, Hyundai introduced its EXTER CNG with dual-cylinder technology.

Now, Hyundai has launched its second model, the Grand i10 CNG, featuring the same technology.

The new Grand i10 Nios CNG starts at Rs 7,75,300 (ex-showroom). Hyundai Motor India claims the car offers better mileage and boot space.

Tarun Garg, Chief Operating Officer of Hyundai Motor India Limited, said, “The Grand i10 Nios Hy-CNG Duo is designed to meet customers’ evolving needs.

With its advanced dual-cylinder CNG system, excellent fuel efficiency, and safety features, the Grand i10 Nios aims to provide a comfortable driving experience.”

The car features a 1.2-liter petrol engine that can run on both petrol and CNG. It is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission, but there is no automatic option available.

In comparison, Tata Motors offers an automatic transmission option for its Tiago CNG.

Hyundai says the new Grand i10 Nios CNG features an integrated electronic control unit (ECU) to enhance safety by ensuring a smooth switch from petrol to CNG.

The car also includes projector headlamps, LED daytime running lights, roof rails, a shark fin antenna, a 20.25 cm touchscreen infotainment system, and various connectivity features.

These safety features are available:

The car comes with 6 airbags as standard. It also includes a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), Day and Night Inside Rear View Mirror (IRVM), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and Hill-Start Assist Control (HAC).

Hyundai is the second company to offer dual-cylinder technology in its CNG cars, following Tata Motors.

Reports suggest that Maruti Suzuki will soon add similar dual-cylinder technology to its CNG lineup. This system uses two small cylinders installed at the bottom of the boot.

The main benefit is that you don’t lose any boot space. Hyundai offers a 3-year warranty on the company-fitted CNG kit for this car.
