Hyundai has recently initiated the manufacturing process of its latest compact SUV, named EXTER, in India.
The production is taking place at Hyundai’s modern facility located in Tamil Nadu.
The announcement was made by the company on Friday.
The manufacturing plant, situated approximately 45 km from Chennai in Sriperumbudur, saw the first ‘Ranger-Khaki’ colored SUV rolling off its production line.
Hyundai Motor India Limited expressed its commitment to employing the finest manufacturing techniques.
What Sets This SUV Apart?
HMIL shared its delight in introducing this vehicle to customers.
The company’s advanced manufacturing plant has incorporated 700 4th Generation robots.
Unsoo Kim, Managing Director and CEO of Hyundai Motor India Limited, stated that EXTER marks their entry into a new segment,
further strengthening their SUV portfolio in the market.
The company has set the launch date for EXTER on July 10.
Exporting the SUV
This SUV will also be exported by the company.
HMIL affirmed that it will not only sell the vehicle in the Indian market but also export it to 85 countries.
Advanced Features and Connectivity
The EXTER SUV comes equipped with various advanced features, including a smart electric sunroof and an inbuilt dashcam with dual cameras.
It is the company’s first micro-SUV, offering over 60 connected features, including BLULINK technology.
This makes it the most connected SUV in its segment.
Hyundai currently has a lineup of 12 models across different segments.
The company boasts 1,348 sales points and 1,515 service points nationwide.
Pre-booking for Just Rs 10,000
Hyundai has made pre-booking available for the EXTER SUV at a token amount of only Rs 10,000.
Deliveries to customers will commence in early August.
The company assures that the vehicle prioritizes safety, featuring six airbags as standard.
Additionally, the top variants of the SUV come with extra safety features such as electronic stability control, vehicle stability management, and hill assistant control.
