Recently, Hyundai has launched the new Ioniq 5 electric crossover in the country along with the debut of the new 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine in the 2023 Alcazar 3-row SUV.
Additionally, the company is planning to introduce updated versions of its existing line-up along with multiple new products.
In 2023, Hyundai is set to launch two brand new cars in the market.
Next-gen Hyundai Verna
On January 21, 2023, Hyundai will be launching the new-gen Verna sedan in the country, for which interested buyers can book the mid-sized sedan online or at authorised dealerships by paying a token amount of Rs 25,000.
The sedan will come with two petrol engine options, a 113bhp, 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated engine, and a 160bhp, 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine, with transmission choices including a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT.
With dimensions of 4535mm in length, 1765mm in width, and 1475mm in height, the new Verna is longer and wider than the outgoing model, with an increased wheelbase of 70mm.
The sedan will boast a segment-largest boot space of 528-litres, and feature a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless connectivity, digital driver’s display, Bose sound system, ventilated & heated front seats, automatic AC, and more.
Additionally, the new model will be equipped with ADAS technology, offering features such as lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, collision avoidance system, and more.
Hyundai Ai3 Micro SUV
Hyundai is gearing up to launch a new micro SUV, known internally as the Ai3, in developing nations.
According to reports, the new model is expected to be introduced in our market before Diwali during the festive season, and it will compete with the Tata Punch, Nissan Magnite, and Renault Kiger.
The Ai3 micro SUV will be based on Hyundai’s K1 platform, which also underpins the Casper micro SUV and the Grand i10 Nios.
The design of the new Hyundai Ai3 small SUV will take inspiration from the Venue compact SUV and is anticipated to be around 3.7-3.8 meters in length, with a longer wheelbase compared to the regular model.
It is expected to share features with the new Grand i10 Nios, including a single pane sunroof.
The SUV will likely be powered by a 1.2L 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine generating 81bhp and 114Nm of torque.
Additionally, a CNG version of the micro SUV could be offered, with both manual and AMT gearbox options available.
