Natural disasters often occur without warning. In these situations, we often hear about crops being damaged by too much or too little rain.

This leads to financial losses for farmers when their crops fail. To help reduce these losses, farmers now have the option to get insurance for their crops.

The government has introduced the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PM Fasal Bima Yojana) for farmers.

With this program, farmers can easily insure their crops. If their crops are damaged for any reason, the government offers financial assistance to help them cope with the losses.

About Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme

The government has introduced the PM Crop Insurance Scheme for farmers.

This program provides insurance coverage for crops. To benefit from this scheme, farmers only need to pay half of the insurance cost.

The remaining 50 percent is provided as a subsidy by the central and state governments.

Under this scheme, the premium for insuring Rabi crops is 1.5 percent. The farmer only needs to pay 0.75 percent of this premium, and the government covers the remaining portion as a subsidy.
