On June 6th, Honda India is scheduled to introduce its forthcoming mid-size SUV for the Indian market.
The carmaker recently announced that the new SUV will be called “Elevate” and is planned to be launched later this year, initially in India before its release overseas.
Various spy shots of the SUV have emerged before its official debut, revealing glimpses of its design, which is expected to feature an upright stance and a robust front-end design.
The SUV’s design is characterized by muscular wheel arches, headlight design inspired by Honda’s DNA, and other similar features.
It is anticipated that the SUV will have a length of 4.3 meters, providing sufficient interior space.
The new SUV is projected to utilize a platform that is derived from prior Honda models in India, specifically, the same platform as the Honda City.
Because the vehicle is based on the Honda City platform, it is anticipated to be equipped with a hybrid engine.
Additionally, the car will feature a 1.5-liter engine that will be optimized for providing the SUV with excellent fuel efficiency.
The upcoming SUV is predicted to be a significant market disruptor for Honda in India, entering a market already dominated by Korean and Indian automakers.
This means that the SUV will be in direct competition with models such as Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Volkswagen Taigun.
