Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has launched the Shine 100, its latest addition to the mass motorcycle market in India, with prices starting at Rs 64,900.
The Shine 100 offers advanced technology for an entry-level 100 cc commuter motorcycle, building upon the brand’s success in the 125 cc motorcycle segment with the Honda Shine 125 cc.
HMSI claims to have incorporated 12 patented features in the Shine 100, according to a press statement.
Additionally, HMSI is offering a special six-year warranty package (three years standard plus three years extended warranty) for the Shine 100.
Honda Shine 100: All-new 100cc Engine
The core of the Honda Shine 100 is its brand-new, OBD2-compliant, PGM-FI engine, which is supported by Enhanced Smart Power (eSP) technology.
The engine boasts of efficient combustion with minimum friction, making it a smooth and eco-friendly choice.
The new 100cc engine features an external fuel pump that is conveniently located outside the fuel tank, reducing maintenance time and effort.
Honda Shine 100: Comfort and Convenience
According to Honda, the Honda Shine 100 has a spacious long seat (measuring 677mm) that offers ample room for both the rider and the pillion, making it suitable for long-distance rides.
The tank has a unique design with a narrow leg opening angle that enhances the rider’s knee grip.
The seat height (786mm) is also ideal for Indian riders of average height, allowing them to easily touch the ground.
Additionally, the Honda Shine 100 comes equipped with a Side Stand with Engine Inhibitor, which prevents the engine from starting when the side stand is engaged, ensuring rider safety.
The patented Combi-Brake System (CBS) with Equalizer is also included, along with a Long Wheelbase of 1245mm and a high ground clearance of 168mm.
Honda Shine 100: Design
Honda has taken inspiration from the Shine 125 for the design of the Honda Shine 100, which features a new graphic theme, front cowl, all-black alloy wheels, practical aluminum grab rail, tail lamp, and sleek muffler.
Honda Shine 100: Colour options
Honda will offer the Honda Shine 100 in five different color options, which include Black with Red Stripes, Black with Blue Stripes, Black with Green Stripes, Black with Gold Stripes, and Black with Grey Stripes.
