In a move to boost the girl population and ease future financial burdens, Himachal Pradesh’s Chief Minister, Sukhwinder Singh, has greenlit a new initiative.
The scheme offers a hassle-free ₹2 lakh fixed deposit for each newborn daughter in the state.
Financial Relief for Education
Under this scheme, when a family welcomes a new daughter, the government will create a ₹2 lakh fixed deposit in her name.
This fund is designed to assist in her education and other expenses as she grows up.
Double Benefit for Two Daughters
Moreover, if a family is blessed with two daughters, they will receive ₹1 lakh fixed deposits in the name of each daughter.
This scheme aims to foster a more girl-friendly environment and alleviate future financial pressures.”
