Hero MotoCorp Launches New Xtreme 160R 4V bike in India

Hero MotoCorp, the renowned motorcycle manufacturer, has finally released the much-awaited Xtreme 160R 4V bike in the Indian market.

The ex-showroom price for the 2023 Hero Xtreme 160R is set at Rs 1.27 lakh.

Promoted as the fastest and lightest 160cc motorcycle in the country, this new bike is all set to rival the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V and Bajaj Pulsar NS 160.

Three variants are available for customers to choose from.

Enthusiasts can conveniently book the bike online or through authorized Hero dealerships.

Deliveries of the Xtreme 160R will commence in the second week of July.

The motorcycle is offered in three variants: Standard, Connected, and Pro 3, with ex-showroom prices of Rs 1,27,300, Rs 1,32,800, and Rs 1,36,500 respectively.

Engine

The new Xtreme 160R 4V boasts a brand-new 163.2cc, 4-stroke, air-cooled, 4-valve engine.

This engine generates an impressive power of 16.9PS at 8500rpm and a torque of 14.6Nm at 6600rpm.

Paired with a 5-speed gearbox, the motorcycle features a tubular underbone diamond-type frame with a box-type swing arm.

The previous model, equipped with a 2-valve engine, generated 15.2PS power and 14Nm torque.

Design

Setting it apart from conventional telescopic units, the Xtreme 160R comes with upside-down front forks.

At the rear, it features a preload-adjustable mono-shock unit.

The bike is equipped with disc brakes on both wheels, along with single-channel ABS.

The standard variant sports telescopic suspension at the front and a 7-step adjustable monoshock at the rear.

With 17-inch alloy wheels, the bike measures 2029mm in length, 793mm in width, and 1052mm in height, offering a wheelbase of 1333mm.

It has a seat height of 795mm and a ground clearance of 165mm.

Impressively, it boasts the lowest curb weight of 144 kg within its segment.

Features

The Xtreme 160R comes with Bluetooth connectivity integrated into its LCD console.

In terms of design, it now features a sportier split seat setup, replacing the single-piece unit of the previous model.

The bike has been upgraded with redesigned switchgear, LED lighting, and a digital console, enhancing its overall premium appeal.

Taking on the TVS Apache RTR

The Hero Xtreme 160R will face direct competition from the TVS Apache RTR 160R, which is equipped with a 159.7cc 4-valve engine, generating an impressive power of 17.63 PS.
