HDFC Bank has alerted its customers that there will be a temporary suspension of all debit, credit, and prepaid card transactions due to a scheduled system upgrade.
The bank communicated this through emails and SMS notifications to ensure customers are prepared for the downtime.
Downtime Schedule
June 4, 2024: Card transactions will be unavailable from 12:30 am to 2:30 pm.
June 6, 2024: Another maintenance window is scheduled for the same time, from 12:30 am to 2:30 pm.
Affected Services
During these periods, all HDFC Bank debit, credit, and prepaid card services will be impacted. This includes:
ATMs: Withdrawals and other transactions at HDFC Bank ATMs.
POS Machines: Card payments at stores.
Online Transactions: Payments through online gateways.
Netsafe Transactions: Virtual card services.
Impact on RuPay Cards
HDFC Bank RuPay cards will also be affected and will not function for online transactions on non-HDFC Bank payment gateways during the upgrade window.
New SMS Alert Limits for UPI Transactions
Additionally, HDFC Bank has updated its SMS alert limits for UPI transactions:
Money Sent/Paid: SMS alerts will be sent only for transactions above Rs 100.
Money Received: SMS alerts will be sent only for transactions above Rs 500.
