Haryana’s Chief Minister, Manohar Lal Khattar, announced an increase in the old age pension from Rs 2,750 to Rs 3,000.

This welcome news was shared during the ‘Haryana Agricultural Development Fair-2023.’

The move brings joy to countless pension beneficiaries, as it marks a nearly 10% boost in their monthly allowance.

Furthermore, Chief Minister Khattar took the opportunity to address the Sutlej-Yamuna Link (SYL) Canal issue.

He affirmed that the SYL Canal project would proceed after securing approval from the Supreme Court.

In addition to the pension increase, CM Khattar outlined plans for the creation of common markets within the state.

This initiative is intended to support farmers currently involved in the procurement of millet crops.

The ongoing government procurement of millet stands at Rs 2,200 per quintal, with an additional sum of Rs 300 earmarked for those who sold their millet crop after September 25. Notably, during the fair, five farmers were also recognized and awarded substantial prizes.
