Upgrades to Gemini AI in Workspace
One notable highlight was the enhancement of Gemini AI. Google announced upgrades to Gemini AI, promising users AI-powered automation within Workspace tasks.
The upcoming Gemini 1.5 Pro will be integrated into the side panel of Workspace applications. This integration aims to streamline data retrieval from files, emails,
and other applications, ultimately saving users valuable time. Initially, the new side panel will debut on Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Drive.
Enhanced Features Coming to Gmail
Google introduced several new features to enhance the Gmail experience for users.
Summarized Email Threads
A standout feature is the option for summarized email threads within the Gmail mobile app. This feature offers users a condensed view of lengthy email conversations.
By tapping the ‘Summarize’ button at the top of the Gmail app, users can access summarized highlights.
While Workspace Labs users will start experiencing this feature this week, Gemini for Workspace customers and Google One AI Premium subscribers will have access to it starting next month.
Gmail Q&A Option
Another noteworthy addition is the ‘Gmail Q&A’ option, allowing users to interact with Gmail in their preferred language and ask questions.
Resembling a desktop side panel, this feature presents users with a prompt box for specific inquiries.
It simplifies the search for even years-old PDF files received via email. The rollout of Gmail Q&A to Workspace Labs users on mobile and web is scheduled for July.
Contextual Smart Reply
