Google Halts Gemini Chatbot’s Image Creation Amid Accuracy Concerns

Google made a big change to its Gemini Chatbot. Now, people can’t make pictures of other people using the chatbot.

This feature was stopped for a while. Google said on Thursday that they’re pausing their Gemini chatbot from making photos of people for now.

This happened after some users shared pictures on social media.

They showed scenes from the past with different-looking people. Critics wondered if Google’s AI was getting things right.

“We’re fixing recent issues with Gemini’s picture feature,” Google said. They announced this on a social media platform.

“While we’re fixing it, we won’t make pictures of people. We’ll bring back a better version soon.”

Research shows that AI can sometimes show unfair ideas about race and gender.

When asked to make a person, it often shows light-skinned men more.

Google knows there are problems with Gemini’s historical pictures. They’re fixing them right away.

Gemini can make pictures of many people, which is usually good. But it’s not perfect.

When asked to make people pictures, Gemini said it’s working on it. “We’ll bring back this feature soon,” the chatbot said.”
