Google begins manufacturing Chromebooks in India in collaboration with HP

Google and HP are working together to make Chromebooks in India. HP shared this news on Monday.

Based on the information, Chromebook devices will be made at HP’s Flex facility near Chennai. They already make laptops and desktop computers there.

Sundar Pichai shared on a social media platform called X that he is the CEO of Google.

He said that Google is going to start making Chromebooks in India with the help of HP.

These will be the first Chromebooks made in India. This will help Indian students get computers that are both affordable and safe.

HP has applied for PLI scheme

HP is one of the companies that asked for a special scheme worth Rs 17,000 crore for computer stuff.

An HP spokesperson also said they’ve started making Google’s Chromebook in India.

Both companies gave good statements

A message from Google and HP said that Chromebooks are a popular tool in K-12 schools.

They are helping 50 million students and teachers worldwide.

HP has been making more things in India since 2020. Right now, they are making EliteBooks, HP ProBooks, and HP G8 series notebooks in India.
