Flipkart Expands into Digital Payments with BillDesk Partnership

Flipkart, a major player in Indian e-commerce, has expanded its reach into the digital payment sector.

Recently, the company announced a partnership with Billdesk, a leading digital solutions provider, to enhance its digital payment platform.

Previous and Ongoing Initiatives

Earlier this year, Flipkart teamed up with Axis Bank to introduce its own UPI handle, @fkaxis, facilitating online and offline transactions both within and outside the Flipkart marketplace.

Partnership Details

Flipkart’s partnership with BillDesk aims to leverage the Bharat Bill Payments System (BBPS), developed by the NPCI, to streamline and expand these services.

New Categories Added to Flipkart App

Following the partnership, Flipkart has introduced five new categories on its app:

Recharge and Bill Payments: Users can now pay their Fastag, DTH, landline, broadband, and mobile postpaid bills directly through the Flipkart app.

Integration with Bharat Bill Payments System

Flipkart’s collaboration with BillDesk includes integration with the Bharat Bill Payments System (BBPS), developed by NPCI, to streamline payment processes.

This expansion builds upon Flipkart’s existing services such as electricity bill payments and mobile prepaid recharges.

Earlier this year, Flipkart also launched its UPI handle @fkaxis in partnership with Axis Bank, enabling seamless online

and offline transactions for merchants both within and outside the Flipkart marketplace.
