The Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has granted a three-month extension for submitting salary and allowance details, allowing employers to upload this information until December 31, 2023.
Initially, the deadline for salary details submission was set for September 30, but it has been extended in response to requests from employers and employer unions.
Labor Ministry Announcement
As per the Labor Ministry, this pension-related facility was launched on February 26, 2023. Originally, the application submission deadline was May 3, 2023.
However, following employee requests, it was extended to June 26, 2023. Additionally, a final 15-day window was provided for eligible pensioners
and members to address any issues, with the last date for submission of applications for verification of options extended until July 11, 2023.
New Deadline: December 31, 2023
The decision to extend the deadline for uploading salary details came after receiving numerous requests from employers and employer unions.
As of September 29, 2023, there were 5.52 lakh pending applications with employers for verification of these details.
In response to these appeals, the Chairman of the EPFO Board has now extended the deadline for employers to submit salary details until December 31, 2023.
Earlier, the EPFO had introduced an online platform for pensioners to submit applications for verifying their pension options following a High Court order dated November 4, 2022.
Up to July 11, 2023, a total of 17.49 lakh applications had been received from pensioners and members for option verification.
