The 19th Electric Vehicle (EV) Expo is happening at Pragati Moudan, Delhi. Today is the second day of this event, and it will last until December 24.
Over 180 companies from India and around the world are part of this event.
It includes not only electric vehicles but also technology related to infrastructure and accessories.
The event takes place in Hall No. 11, 12, and 12A of Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.
Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari started this major electric expo.
During the event’s opening, Gadkari mentioned that India’s EV market is expected to reach 1 crore annual sales by 2030, creating around 5 crore jobs.
He stated that an investment of Rs 20 lakh crore is estimated to be needed for the EV ecosystem in India by 2030, presenting a significant opportunity for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), component and battery manufacturers, and charging operators.
EVEY Electric unveiled the new Vespa Pro e-scooter priced at Rs 62,000, featuring LED projector light, dual disc brakes, and a 72W lead battery providing a 70Km range on a single charge.
Altius EV Tech Pvt Ltd introduced India’s first mid-drive, chain drive electric motorcycle.
Nanya Aircon is introducing an Energy Efficient Differential in India for the first time, increasing vehicle mileage by up to 20% and extending the vehicle’s life while saving Rs 10,000.
Vcrea8 from Delhi showcased its e-carts adapted for e-grocery convenience stores, vegetable and fruit carts, and e-kitchens, priced at Rs 1.25 lakh.
Terra Motors added a powerful 3.3 kW charger to its EV fleet lineup, and the L5 Loader 3 Wheeler was also launched.
ChargeQ introduced the new Light Electric Vehicle DCT Charger for two-wheelers and three-wheelers.
Portable power banks and mobile charging stations ranging from 10KWH to 150KWH for EVs were also showcased.
The EV Expo 2023 is supported by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India,
and organized in collaboration with MSME (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises), Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY), and ICAT (International Center for Automotive Technology).
Until 2017, the expo took place twice a year in Delhi and Kolkata. Its first edition was in New Delhi in December 2015,
and subsequent editions have been held in Bengaluru, Lucknow, and Hyderabad. The Delhi edition remains the biggest event of the EV Expo.
