Until now, buying tickets to travel on DTC buses in Delhi has been very hard, but the Delhi government is going to make it easier for people.
Officials say that the Delhi government plans to start a WhatsApp-based bus ticketing system in the capital, similar to the system used by Delhi Metro.
They mention that the Transport Department of the Delhi Government is working on introducing a digital ticketing system for both DTC and cluster buses.
The DMRC has already started a similar service
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has introduced a service that allows passengers to purchase metro tickets by sending messages on WhatsApp.
This service began in May this year and is now accessible on all metro corridors in Delhi-NCR, including Gurugram Rapid Metro.
Here’s how you can buy metro tickets
To use this service, passengers just need to send “Hi” to DMRC’s chatbot on WhatsApp. The chatbot will guide them on how to buy tickets.
Passengers can purchase single, daily, weekly, or monthly tickets, but there will be a limit on the number of tickets that can be bought by one user.
Tickets cannot be canceled using the WhatsApp Ticketing system.
A small fee is applicable when paying with a credit or debit card, while there is no fee for payments made through UPI.
