Good news for all Aadhar card holders! The Unique Identification Authority has given more time to update your Aadhar card for free.
The original deadline was on 14 December, but now you have until 14 March 2024.
To update your Aadhar card for free, you can use the My Aadhar portal online. If you go to an Aadhar center in person, there is a fee of Rs 25.
This rule remains the same even with the extended deadline, so it’s best to update online for free.
Why should you update your Aadhar? If your address has changed or if it’s been more than 10 years since you got your Aadhar card, it’s important to update the details.
Here’s how you can update your Aadhar online
1) Go to the Aadhar portal: https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/
2) Log in and click on Name/Gender/Date of Birth & Address Update.
3) Choose what information needs to be updated and proceed.
4) Upload a copy of the updated proof.
5) No payment is needed until March 14. After that, a fee of Rs 25 will be charged.
6) Once you complete the payment, a new page will open, and you will receive a reference number.
