D2M Set to launch Offline Video Service for Mobile Users

“Using the internet, you can easily watch your favorite videos on social media.

But did you know you can also watch videos on your phone without needing the internet or a SIM card? This is made possible by a special technology called direct-to-mobile, or d2m broadcasting.

What makes d2m special?

Think of it like the cable service you use at home to watch TV channels, called direct-to-home or d2h service.

With d2h, you need to buy a separate connection and pay a monthly subscription.

Now, there’s a new technology called d2m, which lets you access live TV, movies, and other content directly on your mobile phone.

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB), and IIT Kanpur are working on this technology.

Soon, you’ll be able to enjoy d2m service on your mobile, similar to DTH on your TV.

The government is planning to test this technology soon. Some telecom companies might not like it because it doesn’t need the internet, and you can subscribe to the service for free.

With d2m, you can watch TV channels and enjoy your favorite shows without needing the internet.
