The French automaker, Citroen, has recently launched its fourth car in India, the Citroen C3 Aircross SUV.
This new model also marks the third addition to the C3 series, following the hatchback and electric versions of the car.
Although the new SUV shares the same name as its predecessors, it boasts distinct capabilities that set it apart from them in India.
Citroen has also ensured that the C3 Aircross SUV is equipped with features that make it suitable for off-road driving.
The new SUV will compete in the highly competitive compact SUV market in India, which is currently dominated by Indian and Korean automakers.
The company has announced that the C3 Aircross SUV is scheduled to be available for purchase in India later this year, in 2023.
The exterior design of the Citroen C3 Aircross takes inspiration from its predecessor, and several design elements are similar between the two models.
The grille features an integrated Citroen logo, and the front of the car is adorned with a two-layer chrome plated design.
The front of the car also includes Y-shaped DRLs with the headlamp below it and dedicated air intakes in the bumper.
Moving to the side of the Citroen C3 Aircross SUV, it features round wheel arches and a design that is reminiscent of the other models in the C3 series.
The car rides on alloy wheels and has a ground clearance of 200mm.
The rear of the car includes square-shaped tail lamps that give the SUV a more substantial appearance compared to the hatchback model.
Additionally, it is worth noting that the higher-end variants of the car will come with a dual-tone paint scheme option.
Citroen will offer two seating options for the C3 Aircross SUV: a five-seater and a seven-seater variant.
The SUV will come with several features, including a 10.2-inch touchscreen display, second-row AC vents, and more.
Additionally, the company has equipped the SUV with multiple driving modes to enhance its performance on various terrains.
Under the hood, the Citroen C3 Aircross is equipped with a 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine that generates 110 horsepower and 190 pound-feet of torque.
This engine is the same as the one that powers the C3 hatchback. The SUV will be available with a six-speed manual gearbox.
Upon its release in India, the Citroen C3 Aircross will face stiff competition from well-known rivals such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Volkswagen Taigun, and Skoda Kushaq.
