Citroen Basalt Features and Specifications
Design and Exterior
The Basalt features a design similar to the Citroen C3 Aircross, sharing many styling elements such as DRLs, headlamp clusters, and front air intakes.
The coupe roofline slopes from the B-pillar to a high deck lid with an inbuilt spoiler lip. It is equipped with 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.
Interior and Technology
The interior layout mirrors that of the C3 Aircross, including the dashboard design and a 10.25-inch central touchscreen.
Unlike the Aircross, the Basalt comes with a 7.0-inch fully digital instrument display.
It also offers adjustable under-thigh support for the rear seats, a 15-watt wireless phone charger, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and connected car technology.
Powertrain Options: The Basalt offers two petrol engine choices:
1) A 1.2-liter naturally aspirated engine with 81 bhp and 115 Nm of torque, paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
2) A 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine with 108 bhp and 195 Nm of torque, available with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.
Color Options: The Basalt will be available in five single-tone colors: Polar White, Steel Gray, Platinum Gray, Garnet Red, and Cosmo Blue. White and red color roofs will also be offered.
Competition: In India, the Citroen Basalt will compete with models such as the Tata Curve, Maruti Grand Vitara, Honda Elevate, Kia Seltos, and Hyundai Creta.
