Citroen has launched the country’s first and most affordable SUV coupe, the Citroen Basalt, in the Indian market.
Unveiled a few days ago, this SUV coupe is now available for purchase, starting at an attractive price of ₹7.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
Customers can book the Citroen Basalt through their nearest dealership or online, with a booking amount of just ₹11,001.
Citroen Basalt Pricing and Availability
The introductory price of ₹7.99 lakh will only apply to vehicles delivered by December 31, 2024. After this date, the price is expected to increase.
Shishir Mishra, the company’s brand director, highlighted that the Citroen Basalt is designed to provide customers with a luxury segment driving experience.

The Citroen Basalt blends the bold aesthetics of an SUV with the sleek silhouette of a coupe.
The car features a seamless roofline, Citroen’s signature round grille design, projector headlights, and Y-shaped LED DRLs.
Inside, the vehicle is equipped with a 10.23-inch in-vehicle infotainment system, offering modern technology and connectivity.

Citroen has equipped the Basalt with over 40 active and passive safety features, making it a robust choice in its segment.
The car is built using advanced high-strength steel and comes standard with safety features such as 6 airbags, electronic stability control, hill hold assist, and a tire pressure monitoring system.
Powertrain and Performance
The Citroen Basalt is powered by a 1.2-liter turbo petrol engine that delivers 110 PS of power and 205 Nm of torque.
The vehicle offers multiple transmission options, including 5MT, 6MT, and 6AT, catering to different driving preferences.
With a ground clearance of 180 mm, the Basalt is built to handle various terrains with ease.
