As the demand for SUVs continues to surge in the Indian market, car enthusiasts are in for a treat this June.
Renowned manufacturers such as Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Honda, and Mercedes are all set to unveil their latest powerful SUV offerings.
Let’s delve into the exciting lineup of five SUVs that are gearing up for launch this month.
- Maruti Suzuki Jimny SUV:
The highly anticipated Maruti Jimny has already garnered over 30,000 bookings and is scheduled for an official launch in the first week of June.
This five-door off-road SUV poses as a strong competitor to the Mahindra Thar. Equipped with a 1.5-liter petrol engine, it offers a choice between a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic gearbox.
With a maximum power output of 103 bhp and peak torque of 134 Nm, the Jimny boasts 4X4 technology, making it a formidable off-road vehicle.
- Honda Elevate SUV:
Joining the SUV lineup alongside the Jimny is the Honda Elevate, a compact SUV set to hit the Indian market on June 6th.
Positioned to rival popular models like Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and Kia Seltos, the Elevate SUV features a smaller sunroof, roof rails, shark-fin antenna, and body-colored ORVMs.
Expectations suggest that it will house a 1.5-liter four-cylinder petrol engine, similar to the new-generation Honda City.
Additionally, hybrid powertrain options and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) may be offered in higher variants.
- Hyundai Exter SUV:
Hyundai is all set to make its entry into the micro SUV segment with the Hyundai Exter, expected to launch in the coming weeks.
This direct rival to the Tata Punch SUV has already started accepting bookings, requiring a nominal amount of ₹11,000.
The Exter will be available in five variants – EX, S, SX, SX(O), and SX(O) Connect. Powering the SUV will be a 1.2-liter petrol engine (compatible with E20 fuel) paired with a five-speed manual and AMT transmission.
Moreover, a 1.2-liter bio-fuel petrol engine and CNG option will also be on offer.
- Mercedes EQS SUV:
Mercedes-Benz is expanding its electric vehicle (EV) lineup in India with the introduction of the Mercedes EQS electric SUV next month.
Already launched in global markets, this highly anticipated model comes after the successful release of the electric sedan version of the EQS in India.
The EQS electric SUV will be offered in three variants, with the EQS 450+ boasting an impressive range of up to 660 km on a single charge.
Meanwhile, the 450 4Matic and 580 4Matic variants offer ranges between 507 km and 613 km.
- Mercedes AMG SL EQS SUV:
Not just stopping at the EQS, Mercedes is set to thrill car enthusiasts further by launching the AMG version of the SL 55 roadster on June 22nd.
The seventh-generation AMG SL is equipped with a 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine, delivering 470 hp power and 700 Nm torque.
Accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 3.9 seconds, it achieves a top speed of 315 km/h, electronically limited for safety.
Excitement builds as these powerful SUVs make their way to the Indian market, offering a range of options for car enthusiasts and customers seeking high-performance and thrilling drives.
