BSNL Prepares for 5G Launch: Government Telecom Company, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL).
is gearing up to introduce its 5G service following the footsteps of Airtel and Jio. According to Telecom Minister Ashwini Vaishnav. BSNL will commence its 4G services at 200 locations within the next two weeks.
Vaishnav stated that BSNL has successfully deployed indigenous 4G telecom equipment between Chandigarh and Dehradun at 200 sites.
He expects BSNL’s 4G service to go live in the upcoming weeks. Furthermore, Vaishnav disclosed plans to upgrade BSNL’s 4G network to 5G by November-December this year.
To establish the 4G network, BSNL has already placed advance orders amounting to over Rs 19,000 crore with TCS and ITI.
These orders involve the installation of devices across more than 1.23 lakh locations throughout the country.
Vaishnav expressed confidence in BSNL’s ability to rapidly deploy the network, highlighting the impressive speed at which it will be set up.
Following a three-month trial period, BSNL intends to expand the network to 200 additional locations per day.
Initially functioning as a 4G network, it will undergo software updates to transition into 5G by November-December.
