Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), the government-owned telecom company, is set to launch its 5G internet service.
Known for its affordable tariff plans, BSNL has recently gained attention as private telecom companies like Jio, Airtel, and Vodafone-Idea increased their recharge rates.
Despite this, BSNL continues to offer the cheapest plans, driving many users to consider switching to BSNL.
Rising Interest in BSNL
The recent hike in tariff plans by private telecom companies has led to widespread criticism.
Many users have expressed their desire to port their numbers to BSNL, and social media buzz indicates a significant number have already made the switch.
However, BSNL’s major drawback has been its lack of 5G service, which is essential for high-speed internet. This gap is about to be filled as BSNL prepares to launch its 5G network.
Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia’s Involvement
Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has tested BSNL’s 5G service, marking a significant step towards its rollout.
Scindia visited the Center for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) to test the technology and successfully made a video call using BSNL’s 5G phone.
He shared a video of this call on his social media platform, X (formerly Twitter), indicating the successful test of BSNL’s 5G service.
Scindia’s active involvement and strategic decisions aim to position India as a leader in the 5G sector.
His meeting with C-DOT scientists and the successful test of BSNL 5G suggest that the service will soon be available to the public.
This development is expected to bring significant competition to private telecom companies, potentially altering the dynamics of the Indian telecom market.
