Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), a government-owned telecom company, has experienced a severe setback due to a cyber attack.
Hackers have breached its servers, gaining access to sensitive user and business data.
The breach includes SIM card details, home location register data, and critical security keys, raising concerns about potential misuse for SIM card cloning,
identity theft, and extortion.

Data Stolen
Approximately 278 GB of data, including International Mobile Subscriber Identity (IMSI) numbers, SIM card details, PIN codes, authentication keys, and server snapshots, has been compromised.
Potential Risks

Response and Financial Impact

The hacker reportedly intends to sell the stolen data, heightening concerns over further exploitation.
Financial Context
Despite efforts to reduce losses, BSNL reported a net loss of Rs 5,367 crore in the last fiscal year, down from Rs 8,161 crore previously.
