New Delhi:
The Government of India’s telecom company, BSNL, is rolling out 4G services nationwide and has started work on its 5G network.
Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia recently announced that 80,000 towers will be installed by the end of October, with an additional 21,000 by March next year, totaling one lakh 4G towers by March 2025.
The 5G services will be deployed using the existing 4G infrastructure, with necessary upgrades to the towers for 5G compatibility.
BSNL Gains from Price Hikes in Prepaid Plans
With private mobile companies increasing their plan prices, many users are switching from Jio, Airtel, and VI to BSNL.
This trend has significantly boosted BSNL’s customer base, particularly in Andhra Pradesh, where 217,000 new SIM cards were issued in July 2024.
