In Budget 2024, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is talking about money plans.
She shared some important news during the speech. In an earlier budget talk, she mentioned that the government gave 43 crore loans, adding up to Rs 22.5 lakh crore under the PM Mudra Yojana.
Sitharaman also said that Rs 34 lakh crore was sent directly to people’s Jan Dhan accounts, saving Rs 2.7 lakh crore.
This budget is like a temporary one until the new government makes a full budget.
The Finance Minister mentioned that in the past 10 years, 30 crore Mudra Yojana loans were given to women.
She believes it’s important to include everyone for social justice, calling it active secularism.
She also noted that India now has 80 chess grandmasters, up from 20 in 2010.
This is the first temporary budget from Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and the second one during Narendra Modi’s 10-year government.
Governments usually make interim budgets when elections are near. It allows the government to spend until the new government creates a complete budget.
Nirmala Sitharaman is presenting her sixth budget, and she is the second woman, after Indira Gandhi, to do so.
Indira Gandhi presented the budget for the financial year 1970-71.
