Indian car manufacturers will no longer need to send their vehicles abroad for safety ratings as Bharat NCAP takes charge.
Last month, Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari introduced this domestic car safety testing agency.
Starting October, Indian cars will receive safety ratings exclusively from Bharat NCAP, replacing the reliance on the Global NCAP agency.
The testing involves various crash scenarios, resulting in ratings of up to 5 stars.
Cars set to undergo safety assessments include the Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Maruti Jimny, Honda Elevate, and Hyundai Exter.

The forthcoming tests will provide insights into the car’s overall safety performance.
