Electric cars are becoming more and more popular, and the main problem with them so far has been the limited choices available.
This is going to change next year, especially in the compact SUV category, giving more options to people who want to buy electric cars.
However, most car companies will focus on the more expensive compact SUVs because, right now, that makes the most sense for them due to the cost of the batteries.
Tata Curve
The Curve will be positioned above the Nexon EV in India and will be the main product until the Sierra arrives.
The top version of Sierra will be able to travel about 500 km on a single charge.
It will have all-wheel drive with two motors, but the basic version will have only one motor.
The Curve will be a coupe-style SUV, similar to a concept we saw some time ago, featuring many designs from the new Nexon EV.
It might be the most unique design ever from Tata Motors.
Mahindra XUV.e8
Like Tata Motors, Mahindra is also bringing its first large electric SUV to compete with the Harrier EV.
The XUV.e8 will look like the XUV700 but with a full-width LED light bar and a different grille. This design is similar to a concept Mahindra showed earlier.
The XUV.e8 will have all-wheel drive and a powerful 80kWh battery pack.
Maruti eVX
Maruti’s first electric vehicle will be available by the end of 2024, and being from the biggest automaker in India, it will be a special product.
The eVX is an electric SUV, about the size of the Grand Vitara. It will have a range of around 550 km with its 60kWh battery pack.
However, there might be a smaller battery option for the basic model. We’ve recently seen the eVX in a nearly final form, and its styling is different from other Maruti cars.
