Ather, a prominent player in the electric scooter market, has unveiled its latest offering, the Ather 450S. Priced at Rs 1.30 lakh (excluding state subsidy), this entry-level electric scooter is set to compete head-on with the Ola S1.
Bookings for the Ather 450S will commence in July, adding further excitement to the growing electric scooter segment.
A Closer Look at the Ather 450S: A Potential Game Changer
While Ather has maintained a level of secrecy around the new 450S model, initial information reveals some intriguing details.
Equipped with a smaller 3kWh battery pack compared to the 450X’s 3.7 kWh lithium-ion battery,
the Ather 450S is estimated to offer a range of 115 km on a single charge.
However, real-world conditions may result in a slightly lower range, as observed with the 450X, which has a certified range of 146 km but achieves around 105 km in practical scenarios.
Despite the reduced range, the Ather 450S boasts a top speed of 90 kmph.
Specifics regarding the 0-40 kmph acceleration figures are yet to be disclosed,
but it is expected to feature fewer features compared to the 450X variant.
Ather Energy Adjusts 450X Prices Amidst Changing Subsidy Landscape
In addition to launching the 450S, Ather Energy has recently revised the prices of its popular 450X model. The base 450X now carries a price tag of Rs 1,45,000 (in Bengaluru), while the 450X with the Pro pack sees an increase of Rs 8,000, bringing its price to Rs 1,65,435 (in Bengaluru).
This price adjustment comes in response to the implementation of the revised FAME-2 subsidy, which took effect from June 1.
Ather Energy has taken this opportunity to recalibrate the pricing of its scooters accordingly.
