Asus released a new affordable laptop in India, specifically designed for getting work done.
It’s called the Asus Chromebook CM14, perfect for school and office tasks.
There are different versions of this laptop, but India has one specific model.
The laptop uses an ARM chip and has impressive features for its cost. They showed it for the first time at CES 2024.
Asus Chromebook CM14 specifications
The laptop has a 14-inch screen with a standard 16:9 shape. The version available in India has a screen that shows 1920 x 1080 pixels in Full HD, a refresh rate of 60 Hz, 45% NTSC color range, and a peak brightness of 220 nits.
Inside, the laptop uses a MediaTek Companio 520 SoC processor. It comes with 8GB LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB eMMC storage. It runs on ChromeOS, supporting Android and Linux applications.
The laptop has a keyboard that’s resistant to spills, and the keys move 1.5mm when pressed.
For connecting wirelessly, the laptop uses WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3.
It also has different ports, including 2 x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C (they can provide power and connect to displays), 1 x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a slot for a microSD card.
The computer has a webcam that shows things in 720p HD, and it can be covered for privacy.
It also has a security chip called Titan C and a slot for Kensington Nano security. Lastly, the device uses a 42Whr battery and supports 45W charging.
