Apple recently introduced its latest operating system, iOS 17, during the Wonderlust event. This update brings exciting enhancements to FaceTime and messaging on iPhones.
Release Date for iOS 17
On September 18, Apple will start rolling out iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 updates to iPhone and iPad users.
iOS 17 Compatibility
iOS 17 will be available for iPhone models such as iPhone 14 series, iPhone 13 series, iPhone 12 series, iPhone 11 series, iPhone XS series, XR, and SE. It’s worth noting that it won’t work on older models.
New Features in iOS 17 and iPadOS 17
iOS 17 introduces features like a contact poster for incoming calls, improved spam call handling from third-party apps, and real-time voicemail message translation.
FaceTime and Messages have also seen significant upgrades. Users can now record and send messages if the recipient doesn’t answer a call.
Additionally, FaceTime calls can be initiated via Apple TV and transferred to TV screens.
Other improvements come in AirDrop, Name Drop, Autocorrect, Dictation, Privacy Settings, AirPlay, Apple Music, and Safari browsing.
iPadOS 17 Enhancements
iPadOS 17 offers enhanced convenience for reading PDFs and Notes. It shares interactive tools with iOS 17 in Messages, FaceTime, and Safari.
The Health app is also now available on iPads, allowing users to monitor their health data.
macOS Sonoma, watchOS 10, tvOS 17
macOS Sonoma, set to launch on September 26, enhances video conferencing and browsing on Mac computers.
watchOS 10 is compatible with Apple Watch Series 4 and newer models, paired with iPhone Xs or iOS 17 devices.
It brings changes to contacts, redesigned apps, and navigation, along with two new watch faces.
tvOS 17 brings significant changes to the Apple TV experience, including FaceTime and Direct call features. It also supports Dolby Vision and third-party VPNs.
