Apple agreed to solve a lawsuit in the United States and will pay $35 million (approximately Rs 290 crore) to iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus users facing audio problems due to a faulty chip in their devices.

2) To be eligible, you must have had an iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus between September 16, 2016, and January 3, 2023

3) You should have a documented complaint about speaker problems with Apple or have paid Apple to fix or replace your device

Important dates to remember

1) The deadline to choose a payment method, object to the settlement, or opt-out is June 3

If the California court approves the settlement on July 18

2) Others will receive $125 (about Rs 10,000)

In 2019, Apple faced lawsuits in several US states over audio issues called “loop disease.”

Although Apple denied any wrongdoing, the proposed settlement aims to compensate affected users.

Separately, Apple is in a legal dispute with Epic Games over App Store payment methods.

After a three-year legal battle, the US Supreme Court declined to consider appeals from both parties.

Apple has now asked Epic Games to pay over $73 million in legal fees and costs. The court ruled in favor of Apple in this case.
