Apple recently released its new iPhone 15 series and the Apple Watch Series 9 in global and Indian markets on September 12.
They also introduced a special edition of the watch in a beautiful red color. This special red version is called the Product Red Edition, and it was launched to mark World AIDS Day.
Apple has been supporting AIDS awareness programs in Sub-Saharan Africa through its Product Red initiative since 2006.
To celebrate the launch, Apple announced that they will donate one US dollar for every purchase made using Apple Pay through the Apple Store app or an offline Apple Store.
This donation will contribute to helping HIV-positive patients receive treatment and prevent the spread of the disease.
The Product Red Edition of the Apple Watch Series 9 is priced at Rs 41,900 in India, and the good news is that the company has not increased the price for this special edition.
It is available in two sizes, 41 mm and 45 mm, with an instant discount of Rs 2,500 for HDFC Bank credit cardholders on Apple’s official website.
Other offers include no-cost EMI options for 3 to 6 months, three months of Apple TV Plus and Apple Arcade, and more.
Currently, Apple also sells Product Red variants for iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 13, and iPhone SE in India and other markets, along with various Product Red accessories.
The Product Red Edition of the Apple Watch Series 9 has the same features as the standard version.
Apple has designed a special red watch face for this edition, including different styles like metropolitan, world time, numerical mono, gradient, stripes, and typograph.
The Watch Series 9 boasts an always-on retina display with a peak brightness of 2000 nits.
It is powered by Apple’s in-house S9 chip, supporting double-tap gestures, precision finding for iPhone, and other functionalities.
The smartwatch can track workouts, monitor heart rate, blood-oxygen levels, temperature changes, and sleep patterns.
With water resistance up to 50 meters, the Watch Series 9 is swim-proof, dust, and crack-resistant.
Apple claims a battery life of 18 hours in regular use and 36 hours in power-saving mode.
The watch supports fast charging and comes with a magnetic charger. It is available in GPS and GPS plus cellular combinations.
