To mark the continued efforts to promote and defend equality for LGBTQ+ communities worldwide, Apple has launched a new Pride Edition Sport Band.
The band comes with a matching watch face and iOS wallpaper to complete the look.
Starting from May 23, the Pride Edition Sport Band will be up for grabs at a price of Rs 4,500 on both apple.com and physical Apple Store locations starting May 24.
The band is designed to fit both 41 mm and 45 mm sizes, and it is compatible with all Apple Watch models starting from Series 3.
Next week, the newly introduced Pride Celebration watch face and iPhone wallpaper will be available for download.
It should be noted that watchOS 9.5 and iOS 16.5 will be required to access these features.
The recently launched Sport Band design features the classic rainbow colours of the pride flag, as well as five additional colours.
Black and brown stripes represent the Black and Latin communities, as well as those who are affected by or living with HIV/AIDS.
Light blue, pink, and white stripes are meant to symbolize transgender and nonbinary individuals.
For this year’s design, the Sport Band features a vibrant rainbow of geometric shapes set against a white base.
The final band is created through a compression-moulding process, during which the base material flows around each shape, resulting in slight variations in their positioning.
According to the company, these differences highlight the uniqueness of every member of the LGBTQ+ community, making each band one-of-a-kind.
