New Delhi: Air India, under the leadership of Tata (TATA), is undergoing significant transformations, aiming to enhance its services and facilities for passengers.
In an exciting development, Air India plans to introduce WiFi service on its flights, along with a comprehensive overhaul of its interiors within the next two years.
The WiFi service is set to debut on six wide body Airbus A350 aircraft and will be extended to other flights gradually.
Air India’s initiative to provide free internet service during the flight journey is gaining momentum.
According to Air India’s MD-CEO, Campbell Wilson, the WiFi service will initially commence on Airbus A350 aircraft and later expand to other aircraft in the fleet.
Furthermore, the interior of Air India’s aircraft will undergo a complete transformation, with the process already underway.
By March of next year, Air India aims to introduce WiFi service on 19 new wide body aircraft, with all interiors receiving a fresh and modern look.
The existing fleet of 40 wide body aircraft, including 27 Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner and 13 Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, will undergo refurbishment by 2024. This ambitious makeover project comes with a budget of $400 million.

The objective is to provide passengers with enhanced comfort and superior seating arrangements.
The cabin interior will be upgraded, while the pilot’s seat will be modernized for optimal comfort and functionality.
The flights will also offer comprehensive entertainment options, allowing passengers to enjoy a seamless experience, including WiFi connectivity throughout the journey.
