A Step-by-Step Guide to Applying for Chhattisgarh Dhan Lakshmi Yojana

The Chhattisgarh government started the Dhanlaxmi Yojana to help families with girls in the state. The goal is to prevent female feticide and encourage girls’ education.

This initiative is similar to other schemes in different states inspired by the central government’s Bhagyalakshmi, Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, and Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao Yojana.

In India, there’s a bias against girls, causing concerns for their education and marriage. With the Dhan Lakshmi Yojana, the government aims to provide financial support to families raising daughters.

The scheme offers separate funds for girls’ education, providing financial assistance totaling one lakh rupees from birth until marriage. This includes support for the birth of a girl,

registration, vaccinations, school enrollment, education, and marriage after the age of 18. Upon meeting eligibility criteria, beneficiaries receive Rs. 1 lakh when the daughter turns 18.

Eligibility Criteria for Dhan Laxmi Yojana:

1. Applicant must be a permanent resident of Chhattisgarh.
2. Benefits available only for girls born in the state.
3. Only girls from poor families qualify.
4. The family’s annual income should be Rs 2 lakh or less.
5. Birth registration certificate is necessary.
6. The girl must be fully vaccinated.
7. Benefits available after registration and school education.
8. The girl should not be married before 18.

Online Registration Process for Dhan Lakshmi Yojana:

1. Visit cgwcd.gov.in, the official website of Chhattisgarh Dhan Laxmi Yojana.
2. Click on the “Chhattisgarh Dhan Lakshmi Yojana” option.
3. Choose “Apply Online” and fill in the required details.
4. Provide name, father/husband’s name, date of birth, gender, caste, and other information.
5. Upload relevant documents.
6. Click “Submit” to complete the application.

Offline Registration Process:

1. Visit the office of Anganwadi Worker/Supervisor/Child Development Project Officer/District Program Officer/District Women and Child Development Officer.
2. Get the application form for CG Dhan Lakshmi Yojana.
3. Fill in all required details.
4. Attach necessary documents.
5. Submit the application form to the concerned office.
