For women aiming to grow their savings securely over time, the ‘Mahila Samman Saving Certificate’ program introduced by the Modi government in 2023 is tailored just for you.
This program offers a short-term savings plan ensuring guaranteed returns on investments for any woman interested.
The investment range is flexible, allowing contributions from Rs 1,000 to Rs 2 lakh, with a maturity period of 2 years.
Any woman, regardless of age, can open an account, including girls under 18 with parental assistance.
Opening an account is straightforward; it can be done at post offices or authorized banks. Completing the KYC process involves providing your Aadhar card, PAN card,
and a passport-size photo. Once this is done, you can deposit up to Rs 2 lakh into your account.
Early withdrawals are permitted. After one year, you can withdraw up to 40% of your deposited amount.
In the unfortunate event of the account holder’s demise, the nominee can claim the deposited funds.
In circumstances requiring premature closure of the account, you’ll still earn interest, albeit at a slightly reduced rate of 5.50% instead of the standard 7.50%.
