Amazon has launched a new platform called ‘Bazaar’, inspired by the success of Meesho, a popular online shopping website.
On Amazon Bazaar, you can find affordable products that are not branded.
Meesho, supported by Soft Bank, became very successful in India by selling low-priced items and grew faster than big companies like Amazon and Flipkart.
Now, Amazon wants to reach more customers, especially in smaller towns.
They used to focus mainly on big cities, but with Amazon Bazaar, they aim to expand to smaller areas.
Meesho has become the top choice for people buying small things online, causing challenges for big companies like Amazon.
Similarly, Flipkart has introduced ‘Shopsy’ to sell inexpensive products. It will offer items like clothes, shoes, jewelry, and bags for less than Rs 600.
Amazon Bazaar will compete with Shopsy as well.
Amazon is making it easier for customers to shop by starting Amazon Bazaar.
They want to help local manufacturers by selling their products at very low prices.
Also, Amazon is not charging any referral fees to merchants who sell on this platform.
This move will assist them in selling affordable goods.
While Amazon’s user growth has been slow, Meesho has performed exceptionally well in smaller cities.
