Indian Railways Introduces Destination Alert Service for Passengers

Indian Railways has been changing recently. New trains like Vande Bharat and Amrit Bharat have made travel different.

The Amrit Bharat Station Scheme made railway stations look modern. They also made improvements in cleanliness, security, ticketing, and food on trains.

Indian Railways now listens to people’s complaints and ideas more than before. Another new thing for railway travelers is called destination alert.

It helps people know when their station is coming up. Let’s see what this is and how it helps you.

Indian Railways is getting modern

Indian Railways has changed a lot. They’ve made stations look modern and are using more technology.

Passengers now have a more comfortable journey. They also offer a wake-up call service when you’re close to your station.

This is very useful for long journeys, especially if your station comes between 11 pm and 7 am.

You’ll get a call or message

If you use this service, you’ll get a call or message 20 minutes before reaching your station. You don’t need the internet for this. But you’ll have to pay for the calls or messages.

How to set up destination alert

1) Dial 139 from your phone.

2) Choose your language.

3) Press 7 on the menu.

4) Press 2 for destination alert.

5) Enter your ticket’s PNR number and confirm.

6) You’ll get a confirmation message.

You can also set up destination alert by sending a message.

Just type “Alert” and send it to 139 from your phone’s messaging app. Make sure to use the same number for the service.
